WildCare Inc. was formed in the spring of 2001 to provide professional care to sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife. We are the only nonprofit in south central Indiana to take all wildlife except adult deer and adult raccoons. Formerly we were part of the Monroe County Humane Association (MCHA) until they refocused their mission to only servicing companion animals. Many of our Team Leaders have years of experience as they were part of that wildlife division before it ended.

Our new Center, located 2 miles west of 37 on Third Street, has over 6,000 square feet of inside space for these efforts. This Center sits on 3 acres of land with outside pre release caging for animals to "wild up" before dispersal. Our facility is not open to the public as a condition of our licensing, but we have an education outreach program with non releasable ambassadors.

Each year our numbers climb, but we have taken in over 5,000 animals since we opened. In a typical year 75 of these would be birds of prey; 640, songbirds and water fowl, 631, mammals; 50, turtles; and 48, bats. Seventy-five of these were birds of prey. Roughly 640 songbirds and waterfowl, 631 mammals, and 50 turtles, and 48 bats.
