Indiana Barn Owl

The Indiana Barn Owl is state endangered, so it was a very special day this summer of 2005 when two men carried an owlet into WildCare that had enough wing feathers to glide out of the nest over 20 feet up, but not the wherewithal to get back. Three hours later two Raptor Team volunteers and Aaron Holbrook from DNR returned it to the nest. Three nestlings patiently waited for the prodigal son to rejoin them.

  • Put your shopping dollars to work by buying SCRIPS from WildCare.

    • What is the SCRIPS program? Gift cards purchased from retailers through WildCare giving us a percent of the sale.

    Example: If you purchase $300 in groceries and prescriptions from Kroger or Marsh once a week, eat at O'Charley's every Thursday, and buy $100 worth of Speedway gas each month, the gift cards you buy from WildCare means we will receive $25.50. It doesn't cost you anything extra! You receive dollar for dollar what you spend, but it means over $300 a year for us.

    This is a BIG fundraiser for WildCare. Last year from Kroger and Marsh profits alone we were able to fund most of our avian food.

    We keep Kroger and Marsh in stock all the time and often have Chili's, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Wendy's, Arby's, Burger King, and Starbucks. Otherwise--order on Monday and pick up your gift cards on Friday.
