Sponsor a Barn
Bambi Barn . . .$6,000
Our fawns need their own enclosed space to grow strong and healthy adjacent to the open-air pen. A small kitchen will be needed to prepare the formula and diets. This will also free up much-needed mammal room space in the Center.

Sponsor the Owlery
Owlery Duplex. . . $3,000
The Owlery duplex provides a skylight for each of our education ambassadors as well as windows on three sides. Roosting boxes and a variety of branches give each of them choices. One side is double entry for flighted ambassadors. In the winter the shutters and doors can provide wind breaks against the cold when needed.

Small owl/hawk size 48'L X 12'W X 8'H . . .$5,000
Large Eagle size 100'L X 50'W X 20'H. . .$15,000
The flight cage on the left is built and needs a sponsor; the eagle cage needs a sponsor before it can be built.
The Small Raptor Flight Cage has a zoo mesh top with reinforced cables so birds will not damage their feathers. A double entry inside the wooden slats prevents self release and one end is enclosed for shelter. In 2005 we received two adult bald eagles. They require a very large flight cage with great height. One of the eagles was from Lake Monroe, the other, outside the county.

Raptor Pre Release 10' X 8' X 8'. . . $1,000
Opossum/squirrel pre release. . . $300
Skunk/raccoon pre release. . . $500
Indoor raptor cages. . . $150
These Raptor pre release cages can be made into a duplex by slipping a large board in between the two halves. Injured adult raptors are much more comfortable outside in a more natural setting while they heal. Juveniles need this transition before they are comfortable in the Flight Cage. We have two and need two more.
Five double-entry squirrel cages made of wood and hardware cloth provide over wintering for those squirrels born too late to disperse in the fall. They must be kept warm and fed until the leaves are fully out in the spring to provide safety from predators.
Skoon Town has been built with the needs of skunks and raccoons in mind. Cement pads with drains to a dry septic provide the most modern cleaning options. All-metal caging with metal roofing prevents disease from settling into wood frames. We have three skunk cages and two raccoon cages. We need another group of three for raccoons. While the skunks prefer nesting boxes on the cage floor, the raccoons play and sleep in their hammocks. Wading pools also provide raccoons with water sports.
Our indoor raptor cages offer climate-controlled protected caging for our large birds of prey still needing close observation and medications. Schulte Shelving donations supply the raw materials. Three in place that need sponsors; we need a couple more.

Juvenile Cages
$150
Opossum Juvenile Cages
These 3' square opossum cages made out of wood and hardware cloth with one shelf are ideal for our juvenile opossum joeys. There is plenty of room for them to practice negotiating branches, use their water latrine, and play on exercise wheels. When they are about 1 pound, it is time to move outside to a pre release cage. We need sponsors for 8 of these
Rabbit Juvenile Cages
Rabbit juvenile cages are 4' L X 2' W X 18" H on two wheels so they can be easily moved by one volunteer. Rabbits grow very quickly and most of the 300-350 we take in a season come in during one 4-week period. We have 4 of these that need a sponsor and we need 6 more.
Songbird Juvenile Cages
After nestlings show an interest in perching and hopping about this 4'L X 2'W X 18"H cage on two wheels makes a nice stepping stone before the outside Aviary in pre release. Expensive zoo mesh is used to protect the tender feathers. Soft plastic screening on top provides an additional flight barrier. We need sponsors for 4 and we could use 4 more.

Sponsor an Aviary: Plaque
Aviary Duplex $2,000
This Aviary Duplex gives fledglings the opportunity to fly, grow in the sunshine and open air as well as self feed before release. We need a sponsor for this one, and we need another one built. This makes a great Eagle Scout project.
